Pickler was raised in a challenging environment. At the age of two her mother fled in order to escape an abusive relationship. In 1995, she was returned into the world of Pickler and was granted the custody rights. However, it was not a good experience. Pickler, then 12, was remanded to her parents through the justices. They took care of her till she was old enough to be an adult. Pickler could not be a parent to her children in their absence. According to her, because she was not able to devote time to studies, she started to learn how to cook and clean from a very early age. Pickler participated in the cheerleading squads of both her high school and middle school. In 2004, she graduated from North Stanly High School. Pickler has also been an beauty contestant.
